February 23, 2019 will be the last day that road test services will be provided by private examiners. Between February 24 – February 28th there will be extremely limited road test availability throughout Alberta as most current and newly hired examiners will be in training with Alberta Transportation. After March 1st, road tests will be conducted by Alberta government employees, but the booking and payment will still be done by Alberta registries and tests will begin and end from an Alberta Registry office.
The Alberta Government road test booking system will open at 12:01 am on March 1, 2019 and testing will begin that same day. All bookings have to happen through the Alberta government booking system, so we are unable to make any bookings for March 1st onward until the online booking system opens.
After the booking system opens, you will be able to book road tests online or in our office. We won’t be able to do any bookings over the phone, as per Government of Alberta policy.
Alberta Transportation has indicated that during the first few months, we should expected reduced capacity within the road testing system. We are very hopeful that there will be minimal impact on our customers. Unfortunately, testing will be available only Monday – Saturday from 9-5. There will be no testing available on Sundays or on Saturdays of long weekends. Testing hours will be limited to government working hours even though Alberta registries continue to open early and close late to accommodate the needs of a busy province.
Any road test permits which have been printed prior to February 23rd are no longer valid and a new road test will need to be purchased. Please contact us at 403 272-5513 if you have any questions.
Registries Plus has worked hard to be the registry of choice in East Calgary for road testing and we will continue to work within the new system to provide this much needed service for our loyal customers. We thank you for the support.
